Iran opens credit lines with Russia through three banks

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran announced at the seventy-third meeting of the Public-Private Dialogue Council that Iran is to open credit lines with Russia through three banks.

(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- Speaking at the meeting, Massoud Karbassian said: There is no restriction on the use of these banks, and the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran will be in charge to implement the plan.

We also agreed with the Russians to establish a clearing line for our purchases, he stressed.

The Minister of Economy also announced the holding of a joint commission with the Azerbaijani Republic on Jan. 15 and 16 in Tehran and said: The commission will be held in Rasht in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines of Gilan and Tehran.

He stated in another part of his remarks: In the second half of Farvardin next year (April 2018), Iranian ambassadors in Central Asian countries and their ambassadors in Iran will hold a joint meeting in Tehran.

Karbassian also said that a team from the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines would be sent to Central Asian countries to examine barriers, problems and suggestions, and make appropriate decisions.
