(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- The most part of the international economic interactions of Iran is carried out by the Ministry of Economy, and given that the political relations between Iran and Armenia are at a high level, economic relations between the two countries need to be expanded, said Masoud Karbassian, Economy Minister of Iran.
Stating that Armenia is an intimate friend of Iran in the region, he said: The friendship of the two countries should be strengthened with more economic relations and the two countries’ economic commissions should become more active.
Within the framework of tariff preferences, Iran and Armenia will apply discounts for goods entering the two countries, Karbassian noted.
The Iranian Minister also highlighted the need for expansion of banking cooperation, cooperation in free zones, avoidance of double taxation, and investment in the joint production of Iran and Armenia.
The head of the Armenian State Revenue Committee, Vardan Harutyunyan, expressed satisfaction for the meeting, calling for the development of economic relations between the two countries.
He pointed to the historical relations between Iran and Armenia and said his country is ready to expand economic relations in the IT and customs sectors.
