Investment support and promotion in new tax law

Investment is one of the critical variables of economic growth. In a simple definition, investment is to sacrifice a current value (usually specified) in the hope of gaining another value in the future (usually the size or quality is unknown).

Public debt management

(SHADA: TEHRAN) – Any democratic government requires that public debt and its medium- and long-term effects be made transparent. This is necessary to help ensure accountability and facilitate a better-informed public debate. In order to achieve this, it is of paramount importance that the necessary controls are in place regarding public debt management.

Lessons from global economy

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - Inequality is one of the fastest-growing phenomena in the global economy, particularly in Asia. The experiences of the last two or three decades in Asian countries have invaluable teachings for senior financial leaders and decision makers. The following lines try to provide insights, however limited, on how to come to better solutions in overcoming the paralysing effects of the phenomenon.

Chinas growth; planning or private enterprise?

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - China appears to have come through the world economic crisis better than many other countries. Chinas admirers claim that, under Chinas state capitalism, planners have guided large state companies rationally and wisely through the rough seas of the world economy. The Chinese Communist Party (CPC) plans, oversees, and administers the interwoven network of state banks, airlines, railroads, utilities, oil companies, and large manufacturers, all of which make up the economys commanding heights (to use Lenins term). As Europe and the United States slump, the CPC can speedily launch infrastructure projects or shift millions of migrant workers from one locality to another. There is no messy democracy to gum up the works. New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman extols: A one party system can just impose the politically difficult but critically important policies needed to move a society forward in the 21st century.

Reporting prospective financial information

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - Despite remarkable advances in recent years in the field of accounting, there are still many problems facing the profession. One of them is lack of information about prospective conditions of financial units. No prospective information necessary for investors and creditors is presented in financial reports and there is no structured method for preparing such kind of information. The present article discusses preparation, evaluation and disclosure of prospective financial information and addresses the following topics:

Wealth management; a new expertise

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - With growing competition and specialisation in the banking sector, a new concept called “wealth management” has been raised in the banking industry.

Corporate governance and transparency in state organisational structure

In todays world, trade organisations transactions have been bigger and more complicated and management has become more specialised than before. This has reduced the shareholders control putting more responsibility upon the managers shoulders.

Accountability of public sector managers

(SHADA: TEHRAN) - Financial reporting is a fundamental part of public sector managers accountability which holds them accountable to the supervisory bodies regarding the provision of services, consumption of resources and utilisation and maintenance of assets and properties. The goals of accounting and financial reporting in the public sector are defined and prepared based on a fundamental concept, that is, commitment to accountability, an integral part of all types of accounting and financial reporting.
