Pezeshkian said Economy Minister Seyyed Ali Madanizadeh had held “very constructive” discussions with economic officials of BRICS countries, particularly on banking mechanisms and the role of the New Development Bank (NDB), the bloc’s multilateral development bank.
The president said the discussions had helped create a foundation for broader strategic cooperation, adding that the issues raised during the meetings offered a positive outlook for attracting joint investments, facilitating financial exchanges and strengthening economic relations among BRICS members.
He also stressed that the process of cooperation within the bloc is steadily expanding, with economic ties and coordination developing further day by day.
The remarks came as Iran has been seeking to use its engagement with BRICS to expand economic partnerships, diversify trade and investment channels, and strengthen financial cooperation with emerging economies.
Iran has also been pursuing closer engagement with the NDB as part of its broader efforts to expand access to alternative sources of development financing and deepen economic ties with BRICS members.
