According to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance’s Shada news service, the minister outlined two main objectives for the trip: participation in the OIC meeting and bilateral consultations with his counterparts, including Turkish economic officials.
Madanizadeh said he would hold talks with fellow ministers on the sidelines of the meeting, as well as meet Turkish economic officials to discuss ways to expand economic and commercial ties between the two countries.
Emphasizing the growing importance of land-based trade routes under the country’s current circumstances, he said expanding commercial corridors and developing trade relations through land borders had become among Iran’s main priorities.
The minister expressed hope that consultations with neighboring and like-minded countries would help facilitate commercial exchanges and create more favorable conditions for Iran’s exports, imports and transit operations.
