Speaking on Sunday evening, Dr. Seyed Ali Madanizadeh expressed hope that stronger collaboration between the public and private sectors would raise the digital economy’s contribution to the national GDP.
“The pioneers of the digital economy are forging a new path forward,” Madanizadeh stated. “As Minister of Economy, it is my duty to accelerate growth in this high-potential sector, which demonstrates the highest productivity rates among all industries.”
He argued that Iran’s traditional economic structures are incompatible with the agility and dynamism of the digital economy, and that many systemic economic challenges stem from these outdated frameworks. According to the Minister, embracing digital markets could liberate Iran’s economy from these constraints.
Madanizadeh identified several strategic initiatives to support the sector, including the creation of a digital economy working group—a move he described as a “positive step” toward practical reform.
“This working group is designed to harness the expertise of the private sector,” he explained. “The digital economy must be directly connected to Iran’s real-world economic needs and play a central role in solving its foundational problems.”
He concluded by inviting digital economy leaders to intensify their engagement with the government, affirming his commitment to an active role in supporting innovation—and voiced confidence that decisive progress lies ahead.
