According to SHADA, the Coordinating Council of State-Owned Banks convened under the chairmanship of Seyyed Ali Madanizadeh, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, during which the most pressing issues affecting the banking network were reviewed. The agenda included discussions on improving banks' cybersecurity, supporting distressed economic enterprises, financing and restoring businesses to operational capacity, and various performance-related matters in the banking sector.
Madanizadeh, emphasizing the pivotal role of the banking system in financing the economy, called for greater attention from banks toward directing resources and accelerating the provision of services and facilities required by various economic sectors. He further stressed the necessity of enhanced coordination within the banking network, urging precise implementation of communicated policies and directives, along with reinforced oversight of banks' performance.
The Minister also highlighted the importance of supporting distressed enterprises and expediting their rehabilitation and return to production cycles, stating: "All available capacities of the financing system must be leveraged to sustain economic activities and preserve employment."
Madanizadeh went on to emphasize the need to focus on major industries, utilize capital market potential for enterprise financing and revival, and support knowledge-based companies.
