Forouzan: Removing Barriers to Businesses Depends on Implementation of Integrated Management

Hossein Forouzan, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones, during his visit to the Maku Free Zone and in a meeting with economic activists, underscored that the full implementation of the Integrated Management Law is the fundamental solution to eliminating Unnecessary bureaucratic measures and resolving administrative redundancies within these zones.

According to a report by SHADA, Forouzan highlighted the utilization of local capacities and the uninterrupted continuation of semi‑finished projects as strategic priorities for free zones. Having previously listened to the viewpoints, demands, and concerns of industry representatives and investors, he identified the Maku Free Zone as one of the nation's most critical and strategically significant free zones—ranking only after Chabahar—and asserted that the region possesses considerable potential for development and the execution of major projects.

The Secretary further noted the progress of ongoing projects. He observed: "Many of these initiatives, particularly major road‑construction works, are infrastructural in nature. Although they may not be immediately conspicuous to the general public in the short term, their positive effects and long‑term benefits will become clearly evident in the future."

He explicitly stated that the proper adoption of integrated management would not only reduce administrative overlaps but also facilitate the resolution of certain challenges currently faced by the Bazargan Customs Office through the same framework.

Concluding his remarks, Forouzan enumerated the exceptional attributes of the Maku Free Zone that position it as a prospective major economic hub for the country. He reaffirmed: "Synergy among institutions, the effective deployment of local human resources, the reduction of excessive bureaucratic procedures, and the precise enforcement of relevant laws constitute the four essential pillars for smoothing the path toward development and attracting investment in this region."
