Iran Submits Priority Development Projects to IsDB for Financing

Iran’s Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance and President of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI), Mahdi Heidari, met with Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) President Dr. Muhammed Al Jasser on the sidelines of the 51st Annual Meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors in Baku, Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, Heidari reaffirmed Iran’s continued support for the IsDB and emphasized the importance of maintaining and enhancing engagement with Tehran as a major shareholder. He highlighted ongoing efforts to address outstanding financial issues between the two sides and announced that a structured roadmap has been launched to fulfill mutual commitments and facilitate expanded cooperation.

The Iranian official expressed appreciation for the bank’s role in financing development projects in the country and underscored the need for a coordinated framework to accelerate financing for finalized national projects. A list of Iran’s priority development projects was formally presented to the IsDB President.

The two sides also discussed capacity-building initiatives, technical cooperation, and the organization of bilateral and multilateral training programs under the auspices of the IsDB.

Al Jasser welcomed the participation of the Iranian delegation, describing Iran as a major shareholder and a reliable partner of the bank. He noted that emerging circumstances have created favorable opportunities for deeper cooperation and stressed that the implementation of development projects in Iran would contribute not only to the country’s economic growth but also to broader regional prosperity and the advancement of neighboring economies.

The 51st Annual Meeting of the IsDB Board of Governors is being held in Baku from June 16 to 19, under the theme “Regional Integration for Sustainable Prosperity.”
