Iranian Ministry Official, Ambassador in Beijing Push for Enhanced Cooperation with China

A senior official from Iran’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance met with the country’s ambassador to China on the sidelines of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank’s (AIIB) 10th Board of Directors meeting in Beijing, calling for the creation of a dedicated working group to deepen bilateral cooperation.

According to Shada, Hossein Kashiri, the Ministry’s representative to the AIIB, and Ambassador Rahmani Fazli discussed the formation of a joint task force aimed at accelerating economic engagement between the two nations.

Highlighting the ministry’s active role in the Iran-China Joint Commission and its associated Mechanism Committee, Kashiri said: “Given the importance of prioritising projects for financing, it is essential to establish a special working group to fast-track and expand cooperation.”

He added that the proposed group would facilitate alignment on strategic initiatives, enabling both countries to more swiftly realise shared goals across economic and infrastructure sectors.
