Iran Approves 55 Foreign Investment Projects Worth $178 Million

TEHRAN – Iran's Foreign Investment Board has approved 55 foreign investment projects worth a combined $178 million, marking another step in the country's efforts to attract international capital across key economic sectors.

The approvals were granted at the 307th meeting of the Foreign Investment Board, the board's fourth session of the current Iranian calendar year (1405), which began on March 21, 2026. The meeting was chaired by Mahdi Heidari, head of the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI), the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance said.

According to SHADA, the board reviewed 61 foreign investment applications covering a wide range of sectors, including industry and mining, agriculture, renewable energy, food and pharmaceuticals, road construction, automotive manufacturing, telecommunications, textiles and other industrial activities.

The proposals were submitted by investors from several countries, including Canada, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Greece, Cyprus, China, Turkey, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Iraq, as well as by Iranian expatriate investors.

Following technical and economic assessments, board members approved 55 projects with a total investment value of $178 million.

The approvals are expected to support foreign capital inflows into Iran's infrastructure and industrial sectors while strengthening the country's international economic cooperation during the current year.

The meeting was attended by the permanent members of the Foreign Investment Board, including representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Central Bank of Iran, the Plan and Budget Organization, the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, and the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives.

Representatives from several specialized government bodies also participated, including the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad, the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade, the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Free Trade, Industrial and Special Economic Zones, the Iran Food and Drug Administration, and the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.
