FEZ Minsk to Deepen Ties with Iranian Free Zones

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme Council of Free and Special Economic Zones has met with the head of the Minsk Free Economic Zone (FEZ Minsk) to advance bilateral cooperation between their respective free zones.

According to Shada, Reza Masroor, Secretary of the Supreme Council, held talks with Anatoly Kanalin, Head of FEZ Minsk, during which both parties expressed interest in strengthening institutional links and developing joint implementation plans.
Masroor highlighted the scale and diversity of Iran’s free zones, which host over 2,000 companies across sectors including manufacturing, logistics, tourism, and technology. “Our zones encompass technology parks, industrial towns, and a wide array of enterprises,” he said. “There is significant capacity for growth, and closer ties with FEZ Minsk could catalyse investment, boost export-oriented production, and foster collaboration in high-tech industries.”
Kanalin noted that FEZ Minsk is the largest economic zone in Belarus and underscored the country’s ongoing digital transformation. “Belarus is investing heavily in artificial intelligence and virtual cloud data centres,” he said. “Partnerships with Iranian counterparts could accelerate progress in these areas.”
The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to formalise the partnership. A cooperation agreement between FEZ Minsk and Iran’s free zones is expected to be signed in the near future.
