In the meeting, Madanizadeh emphasized Iran’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation and pursue joint investment opportunities in energy, infrastructure, and agriculture. He praised Tajik officials for their hospitality and congratulated them on the successful organization of the Dushanbe International Investment Forum, highlighting the steady growth of bilateral ties over the past three decades and the shared cultural and civilizational heritage as key drivers of the relationship.
As head of the State-Owned Banks Assembly, Madanizadeh also addressed lingering banking issues between the two countries and reached agreements with the Tajik side to resolve them through interbank cooperation.
He underscored Iran’s investment potential in engineering, mining, infrastructure, agriculture, and knowledge-based sectors, describing the Dushanbe Investment Forum as a valuable platform for mutual understanding and engagement.
Madanizadeh announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding to establish a joint investment working group, based on three foundational economic agreements: mutual investment protection, avoidance of double taxation, and customs cooperation. He noted that three sessions have been held so far, with the latest concluding during the 17th summit in Shiraz.
The minister also expressed the Iranian private sector’s readiness to exchange specialized delegations and enhance cooperation, particularly by improving Iranian traders’ awareness of the Tajik market.
He concluded by highlighting the positive impact of the visa waiver agreement on boosting cultural and medical tourism between the two nations.
