Iran, Tajikistan Explore Joint Innovation Fund and Tech Cooperation

During his visit to the Dushanbe International Investment Forum, Iran’s Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, Dr. Seyed Ali Madanizadeh, met with Mirzo Khurshed Fayzullozoda, Director of the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technologies, to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in digital innovation, technical knowledge exchange, and joint support for startups.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the forum scheduled from October 14 to 16, 2025 (which is underway), focused on establishing a joint technology investment fund, backed by Iran’s National Development Fund and Tajikistan’s innovation agency. The fund aims to finance high-risk, high-potential innovation projects and reduce investment barriers in the region.

During the meeting, the Minister of Economic Affairs emphasized key areas of bilateral cooperation, including the exchange of technical and educational expertise, support for joint startups, and the establishment of a joint fund, backed by Iran’s National Development Fund and Tajikistan’s Innovation Agency, to finance innovative projects and mitigate investment risks.

Mirzo Khurshed welcomed the proposals and affirmed his agency’s full support for deeper collaboration in banking, venture capital, and digital infrastructure.
