According to Shada, Iraqi Ambassador Naseer Abdul Mohsen Abdullah highlighted the Iraqi Prime Minister’s directive to host an international conference on investment opportunities, scheduled to take place in Baghdad on June 14–15.
The conference will showcase 139 investment opportunities across multiple sectors, including power and renewable energy, oil and gas, heavy and semi-heavy industries, industrial zones and free trade areas, agriculture and livestock production, healthcare, housing development, tourism and recreation, maritime trade, warehousing, sports and youth initiatives, and telecommunications.
The Iraqi government is eager to ensure Iranian companies have a strong presence at the event, the ambassador said.
Iranian Deputy Minister of Economy Abolfazl Koudehei emphasized the significance of strengthening economic ties between Iran and Iraq. He noted that Iran’s investment organization has actively informed Iranian companies about the conference to encourage participation.
Koudehei also pointed to state guarantees issued by the Iranian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance to support Iranian companies in Iraqi tenders. He stressed the importance of cooperation in accepting these guarantees to facilitate private sector engagement in Iraq.
