Foroud Askari, head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), reported that this volume of transit goods represents a 22.5 percent increase compared to the same period the previous year.
According to Askari, more than 19.6 million tons of the total transit goods were processed through ten customs points, including Shahid Rajaee, Parviz Khan, Bashmaq, Sarakhs, Bazargan, Astara, Piranshahr, Bilesavar, Lotfabad, and Jolfa.
He noted that the most significant increases in transit volumes were recorded at the Sarakhs, Piranshahr, and Lotfabad customs, which experienced growth rates of 148 percent, 65 percent, and 58 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
