The amendment protocol was signed on April 9 by the deputy foreign ministers of both countries, according to a report from the Tax Administration cited by Shada.
The provisions of the original agreement took effect on May 1, 2018. The recent additional protocol, signed by Majid Takht-Ravanchi, Deputy Foreign Minister of Iran, and Marek Eštok, State Secretary of the Slovak Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, updates several articles of the agreement to align with the latest international standards for avoiding double taxation.
During their bilateral meeting, the deputy foreign ministers discussed a range of issues related to their political, economic, cultural, educational, and consular relations, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
Emphasizing mutual respect and shared interests, both sides expressed their governments' commitment to expanding and strengthening cooperation across various fields.
