The delegation included prominent figures such as Khalid Zaid Al-Yafei, Second Secretary of the Qatari Embassy in Tehran; Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Abdullah, Director of Doha’s Old Port Customs and Northern Ports Customs; Ajab Mansour Al-Qahtani, Director of Customs at Hamad International Airport; Ahmed Mohammed Al-Qubaisi, Director of the International Cooperation Department; Mubarak Mohammed Al-Ma’azid, Head of the Department for Combating Smuggling; and Ahmed Abdul-Jabbar, Director of Public Relations and Communications.
During their visit, the Qatari officials engaged with Foroud Askari, Deputy Minister of Economy and Head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), to discuss expanding mutual customs cooperation. Key topics included removing existing barriers to trade and increasing the volume of economic exchanges.
Data from March 2024 to March 2025 indicates that non-oil trade between Iran and Qatar reached approximately $334 million. Of this total, exports accounted for $144 million while imports stood at $190 million — underscoring a growing economic relationship that both sides are eager to deepen through enhanced cooperation.
