Iran, Hungary Fixing to Expand Economic Cooperation

Emphasis on Facilitating Investment Processes

Kodehei highlighted the vital role of commercial attachés in attracting foreign investors and urged them to do their utmost to draw investment into Iran. He announced that the Investment Organization is prepared to create conditions conducive to a more active presence of foreign investors by accelerating the removal of legal obstacles and providing technical assistance. He also noted that closer coordination between the Trade Development Organization of Iran and the Investment and Economic Technical Assistance Organization could play an effective role in this process.

Strengthening Economic Cooperation with Hungary

Referring to his recent meeting with the Hungarian ambassador in Tehran, Kodehei stated: “Given the economic capacities between our two countries, there are significant opportunities for developing cooperation across various sectors.”

Hassan Argi expressed hope that he could contribute not only to trade and commerce but also to attracting investment and boosting exports. In light of the upcoming 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Iran and Hungary in 2025, Argi emphasized: “The fifth joint economic commission between our countries, scheduled to be held in Hungary, could be instrumental in expanding economic interactions.”

He further added: “Building on previous agreements, we aim to take more substantial steps in three key areas: food and medicine, water management, and agriculture.”

More Delegations at Expo 2025 Iran

Argi highlighted productive meetings held between Iranian and Hungarian private sector representatives during Expo 2025. Based on prior arrangements with ambassadors from the Czech Republic, Italy, Croatia, Romania, Germany, as well as the Iranian ambassador to Hungary, he noted that Hungary’s delegation was among the largest from European Union countries participating in Expo 2025.

Iranian Provinces Prepare to Cooperate with Hungarian Investors

Agri announced that several Iranian provinces—including Yazd, Zanjan, Hamedan, North and South Khorasan, Bushehr, Fars, Semnan, and East Azerbaijan—are ready to attract Hungarian investors.
