Iran’s Trade Balance Improves by $5.5 Billion: IRICA

During this timeframe, non-oil exports reached a total of $22.5 billion, marking a 24% increase compared to the same period last year. In terms of weight, non-oil exports amounted to 59 million tons, reflecting an 18% rise year-on-year.

The report also highlighted that imports during this period totaled $25 billion, which represents a 4.5% decrease compared to the previous year. By weight, imports were recorded at 12.8 million tons, down 20.5% from the same period last year.

Overall, Iran’s total trade volume, including both exports and imports, grew by 7% to reach $47.5 billion during the current administration. In terms of weight, the trade volume increased by 8.5% to 71.8 million tons.

According to IRICA statistics, the trade balance improved by 69%, or $5.5 billion, from August 22, 2023, to January 4, 2024.

The report further noted that during the same period in the previous year, non-oil exports stood at $18 billion while imports totaled $26 billion.
